Juan Mulet (ES)

Juan Mulet has a Phd in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an MBA from the IE.  He was the Research and Studies Director in Telefonica S.A., Deputy Director of Research and Development in Telefonica S.A., Managing Director of Electronic and Communications Programs at Amper S.A, and Managing Director of Cotec. He has been a university Deputy Professor, professor responsible for the Chair, Professor of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a deputy professor of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has worked in the monitoring panels of the Third Action (Innovation) of the Fourth  EU Research Framework Program between the  years 1995 and 1996 and in the Fifth EU Research Framework Program between 1999 and 2000. He has been a member of the Industrial Research & Development Advisory Committee (IRDAZ) and the European Research Advisory Board (EURAB) of the European Union and a counsellor in the Fundación Española de Ciencia y Tecnología (FECY), The Scientific Advisory Council of Telefónica R+D and of the Social Council of Farmaindustria. He has been in the Management Board in Axon Capital SGCR, of which he was President, Intelsam Comet, AT&T Microelectrónica de España and Amper Programas.

He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Science Technology and Innovation of the Kingdom of Spain, the High Advisory Council for the Instituto de la Ingeniería de España, the Consell Assessor de Recerca y Desenvolupament Tecnològic de les Illes Balears, the Advisory Council of the Scientific and Technological Park of Madrid, and a Trustee for the IMDEA Networks and España Digital Foundations. He is an Academic Member of the European Academy of Arts and Science, he has obtained the Salvá I Campillo del  Col·legi i l’Associació d’Enginyers de Telecomunicació de Catalunya and the special numbered commendation of the Order of Civil Merit.

Miguel Maté (ES)

Miguel Maté, holds a master´s degree in Law and Business Administration in the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and Executive MBA at the IESE. After a brief period of time in the consultancy firm Bain & Company Italy, he started his professional career in Telekom Austria in Vienna, where over 7 years, he acquired experience as a Controller of different departments and areas of expertise, firstly in the Systems Area until being Manager of the CRM department, being appointed afterwards as manager of the Marketing Business and Residential department. In his background stands out the experience in project analysis and monitoring, overall vision understanding of finance and business operations; thanks to his involvement in the Mobilko and Telekom Austria merger and to his position as Chief Financial Officer of several small companies. Since his return to Spain in 2012 he has worked with Innovation and Technology companies connected  with universities and research centres, helping them in the early stages as well as in the later acquisition of public and private equity, in Spain and overseas.

 

 

Effie Amanatidou (EL)

Effie has 20 years of experience in research and innovation policy analysis including in particular EU research and innovation policies, evaluation / impact assessment of research policies and programmes and foresight studies. Effie has also taken up a special interest in social innovation especially in relation to grass-roots initiatives emerging in contexts of financial crises in the South of Europe but not only. Her interest in this area has been focusing on developing a typology of social innovation also in relation to other innovation types and examining its ‘position’ in the research and innovation systems and the consequent policy implications.

Alberto Arroyo Schnell (ES/BE)

As a Senior Policy Manager, he helps to channel the knowledge and research results of the International Union for Conservation of the Nature’s network into the EU Environmental Policy debate. Based in Brussels, he also plays a facilitation role in institutional, civil and socioeconomic stakeholders discussions. In his vision, innovation policy is key to help us solve our societal and environmental challenges.

José Guimón (ES)

Foto-INCOM-GreeceAssociate professor at the Department of Development Economics of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and co-director of the PhD Program in Innovation Economics and Management. His research focuses on the globalization of innovation and he regularly works as a consultant to the OECD and the World Bank.
